World rare earth resources

According to the statistics of the US Mines Bureau (the following table): the world's rare earth resources totaled 45 million tons of rare earth oxides, of which China accounted for 80%; the United States accounted for 11%; India accounted for 5%; the Soviet Union accounted for 1%; the above four countries total It accounts for 97% of the world's rare earth resources.

According to the National Bureau of Geological Data, 13 provinces and autonomous regions (not counted in Taiwan) have rare earth resources, mainly distributed in Inner Mongolia, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Hubei, Hunan and other places. As far as the varieties of rare earth elements are concerned, there are not only rare earth symbiotic ores of Baiyun Obo, which are mainly light rare earths, but also ion-adsorbed rare earth ores with high content of medium and heavy rare earths. Although much of xenotime resources, reserves of yttrium oxide of yttrium is still more than the sum of foreign resources.
