Several companies compete for electric energy meter tenders

Recently, the State Grid Corporation of China launched the second batch of electricity meter tenders in 2013, and several domestic listed companies participated in the competition. At present, the tendering activity is in full swing, and the results of the tendering will be announced in the near future. Under the rigid demand of rural power grids and transformation of old watches, the overall tender volume this year may exceed the original expectations of the State Grid.

According to the arrangement of the State Grid, the number of the second batch of various types of electricity meters totaled 22,726,000 units, and the total amount of tenders decreased slightly compared with the same period last year. Compared with 26.878 million units in the same batch last year, it dropped by 15.5%, which was a decrease of 1.2% compared with the 22.99 million units in the first batch of this year.

According to a number of listed companies, it is expected that the winning bid will not change much from the first batch. Linyang Electronic Securities officials told reporters: "The company has already bid for the second batch of the national grid power meter this year, the results may be announced in the near future, it is expected that the number of bids and prices will not change much from the first batch, the specific situation will be announced by the announcement quasi."

In addition, an insider of a listed company in southern China's meter industry also disclosed that the company has submitted bids for the second batch of energy meters and is expected to maintain a stable share. Since last year, the State Grid’s electricity meter bidding system has adopted a medium price rather than a minimum price. Therefore, it is expected that the price fluctuation will also be relatively stable.

Comparing the information received from the first batch of electric energy meters, the bidding situation can also be seen. Samsung Electric won 23 bids for the first batch of electric energy meter tenders in 2013. The total number of successful electric energy meters was 1,233,700, and the total bid amount was 275 million yuan, accounting for 10.72% of the 2012 audited operating revenue.

Linyang Electronics won the first batch of 32 packages, with a total of 111.14 million winning energy meters. The total bid amount was 264 million yuan, accounting for 13.81% of the total audited operating revenue in 2012. Ke Lu Electronics won the bid for 17 packages, with a total of 613,300, and the total bid amount was 177 million yuan, accounting for 12.58% of the 2012 total operating revenue. On the whole, the performance of the above contract will have a positive impact on the related company's 2013 business operations and operating results.

It is understood that the number of tenders for the State Grid's overall electric energy meter this year may exceed the bidding plan that was previously established. According to public information, the planned bidding volume of the State Grid in early 2013 was 55 million. However, the total number of first and second batch of tenders this year has exceeded 45 million. Linyang Electronics disclosed that the number of tenders for the entire year is expected to exceed 70 million, which is equivalent to the number of last year.

According to industry analysts, the domestic demand for smart meters was stimulated by rural grids, new demand, and new demand. Total demand exceeded initial planning. The overall number of tenders for electric meters is expected to remain the same as last year, and the bid price will remain stable. The gross profit margin rose steadily.

The analysis from Ping An Securities stressed that in the second batch of electric energy meter tenders, the carrier ratio boost will facilitate the subdivision of the carrier chip to lead the Neusoft carrier. The bidding data showed that the current 1S class (current transformer class) three-phase electricity meter is about 2.323 million units, and the carrier ratio is 52.7%, which is an increase from the 39.1% of the first batch.
