Recently, Caterpillar announced that in late 2017, some of its senior management and support functions will be relocated to Chicago, Illinois, USA as the new global headquarters. Caterpillar also stressed that Peoria will continue to play an important role, most of the employees will remain in Peoria, but the previously announced Peoria headquarters building will no longer be built.
Many of the company's senior executives will be relocated to the Chicago Leasing office in early 2017.
