SCHOTTEL will equip the newly built "Island Venture" offshore construction vessel (OCV) with three SCHOTTEL Rudderpropeller SCD 710 Combi thrusters with a single output of 3,300 kW to increase maneuverability in different applications.
The stern part of the "Island Venture" was built by the Polish Crist shipyard and the bow was built by the Norwegian Ulstein Verft shipyard. Both parts have been assembled.
It is reported that the "Island Venture" is 160 meters long and 30 meters wide. It is a multi-purpose OCV. The equipment includes a 400-ton crane for deepwater drilling operations at 4,000 meters underwater, a 140-ton crane with a length of 3,000 meters, and a 3-month pool.
