Chinese, Japanese, and Russian Enterprises Sign Chemical Fertilizer Project Construction Contract

On the 13th, China National Chemical Engineering Corporation and two Japanese companies signed a contract for the construction of a fertilizer plant with a total value of US$1 billion in Amani, a Japanese company, in Yokohama, Japan. The signing ceremony was attended by Russian President Medvedev, who is attending the Informal Leaders Meeting of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Organization in Yokohama.
According to the contract, China National Chemical Engineering Corporation will cooperate with Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Shuangri Company to build a chemical fertilizer plant in Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan, using natural gas to produce ammonia, methanol and other fertilizer raw materials, and design production capacity to produce 2,050 tons of ammonia in a single day, or Japan will produce 1382 tons of ammonia and 668 tons of methanol. This is Russia's first large-scale fertilizer plant in 20 years, and the plant is expected to start production in 2015. Among them, China National Chemical Engineering Corporation is responsible for the construction of the factory, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is responsible for equipment design, machine equipment, operation guidance, etc., and is responsible for transportation and coordination issues on the 2nd.
